As we know AirPrint is not officially implemented in Mac OS X yet, but the feature remains present in the latest iOS 4.2 GM. If you have iOS 4.2 GM installed on your iDevices and want to enable AirPrint then you can follow our guide posted here. You can also use AirPrint Hacktivator to enable AirPrint. Now we are going to show you step by instructions using which you can create PDFs from your iOS device. Follow the steps carefully.
INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1. Upgrade your System to 10.6.5 and make sure that you are running iOS 4.2 GM on your device.
STEP 2. Now Hacktivate AirPrint on your system which will allow you to use and to serve printers.
STEP 4. Now create the CUPS-PDF printer by using System Preferences->Fax & Print
STEP 5. To add a new printer Click the ‘+’ sign and now you will see a dialog box as shown in the below image.
STEP 6. Now using the Generic PostScript Printer selection, select CUPS-PDF and name the printer as you like and then click ‘Add’.
STEP 7. Check the ‘Share this printer on the network’ box, in the ‘Print & Fax’ screen.
STEP 8. On your iOS device, enter an app which supports printing and choose the new PDF printer. Then print something to create the directory.
STEP 10. Now move aside the original directory that CUPS-PDF uses to store PDFs by using the terminal and have them instead appear in your Dropbox.
$ mkdir ~/Dropbox/Documents/PDFs
$ sudo mv /var/spool/cups-pdf/ANONYMOUS /var/spool/cups-pdf/ANONYMOUS-orig
$ sudo ln -s /var/spool/cups-pdf/ANONYMOUS ~/Dropbox/Documents/PDFs
STEP 11. The generated file will appear in your Dropbox whenever you print to this device. Now open with GoodReader or Dropbox app. A PDF printout of whatever you were looking at is now available.
That’s it. In this way you can create PDFs from your iOS device. Stay tuned with us for more updates.
