Google knows a lot of stuffs, but the most fascinating thing is, he knows you! and your friends circle. Well this topic is all about social search, that how Google identifies social search result based on its understanding of your friends and their friends. Google naturally identifies all this things through network of connections such as listed below:
• Direct connections from your Google chat buddies and contacts
• Direct connections from links that appear on your Google profile
• Secondary connections that are publicly associated with your direct connections

In addition to web pages from your social circle, posts from your Google Reader subscriptions may also appear in your social search results.

It is a feature of Google which helps people to discover relevant content from your social circle, a set of online friends and contacts. The idea is about the content from your friends and social contacts is often more relevant to you than content from strangers.
But what kind of content is in Social Search?
This is a result page under “Results from people in your social circle.” All the content shown in the Social Search is publicly available online through Google and other search engines but the Social Search highlights content only from your social circle to provide a personalized search experience.
Who is in my social circle?
Social circle is a group of connections including
1. People in my Gmail or Gtalk chat list (groups in my Google contacts)
2. People those are publicly connected to through social sites, such as Twitter, Google Buzz etc
3. People whom i follow in Google Reader etc.
