Gmail Checker 2.1.1 Firefox add-on can be used to check for new emails in your Google Mail and Google Apps (Gmail for Domain) accounts. This add-on creates an icon in Firefox status bar area from where you can check multiple Gmail accounts easily. This does not require you to store account user name or password locally and hence your security and privacy factors remain secure. Simply select “Log in new account” in the menu and enter the account you want to check mail.
Once you have entered Gmail user name and password for a specific account, you can login to it anytime as the authentication cookies won’t expire after you’ve closed the browser. All your Gmail account information and settings are stored in a file called gmailchecker.sqlite under profile directory.
The only problem is that the passwords are not 100% encrypted and hence it’s not advised to use Gmail Checker add-on on shared computers.
